It has been a very great week end at Sarno (SA) for the first round of the WSK Euro Series. Pantano Team and its six way drivers’ line up were fully committed to score a great result in all the the categories (60 Mini, OKJ and OK).
In the 60 cc class the dutch Keeren brought back his usual pace fighting the whole week end for the top positions ending 5th overall, after some great heats on track with the other competitors.
A very consistent week end for the your 60 Mini driver. In the OKJ the young French driver Capietto shown, once again, his incredible pace by ending 5th the Pre Finale and 11th the Final with so much side by side fights with his rivals after an amazing start. Unlucky end of the weelk end for the Smith who did not get the access to the Final for a technical problem. In the OK the Italian team has been very strong with all its drivers: Valtanen won two heats and the Pre Final before closing the week end with a stunning 3rd spot got in the Final.
Alongside him the other finnish driver Salonen after a very great 4th overall in the Pre Final, he has been pulled out of the track at the start of the Final and forced to end the race 20th overall.
Bad luck for the Italian driver Ressico D’Aloisio too, who has been kicked out during the Final after a very great start and a good comeback. The italian got hitted in the rear bumper by another driver: the hard damage was scratching the rear tyres forcing the marshall to wave him the black/orange flag.
Giorgio Pantano: “We are very satisfied about our driver’s performances. Sarno is tough for the engines and the drivers so to be competitive here in a WSK race means that we are facing a big improvement in our technical package. Now is time to move on to Zuera to prepare the first race of the CIK FIA European Championship schedule at the beginning of August.”
