TOO MANY CRASHES AND PENALTIES AT PORTIMAO FOR THE PANTANO TEAM DRIVERS.

Looking forward the upcoming CIK FIA World Championship, Pantano Team and its drivers line up has attended last week end the second round of the Champions of the Future which has taken place at Portimao (P). The important international event has been considered as a sort of warm up of the “main event” coming up with 100 entries from all around the world. After being very competitive in many WSK and CIK FIA events, the Pantano’s has tried hard to fight for the top positions in the OKJ and OK categories. In the OKJ Pantano Team welcomed the Italian driver Francesco Marenghi who made his debut with the former F1 driver’s team at Portimao showing a good speed but being involved twice during the heats in some contacts which have pulled him into the “second chance” race ended 18th. In the OK, the flying finn Valtanen pushed very hard during the whole week end scoring three podiums in the heats, a 6th place in Pre Final but being involved in a very spectacular flip (no injuries for him) at the start of the Final. Same kind of accident for Pirttilhati too, involved a big crash in a heat who has slowed down him in the second part of the event: 22th place overall for him at the end which is absolutely not the place that his speed deserved. For the Italian Ressico D’Aloisio the Portuguese race has been unlucky at the end with a retirement in the Pre Final and a very great comeback in the Final (19th) from the last row of the grid. This week end all the same drivers will attend the CIK FIA World Championship in Portimao (P).
